Düppeler Forst Wannsee

Berlin Day Hike: Wannsee, Düppeler Forst and The First Sunny Hike This Year

We had a wonderful small hike trough the wild and sympathetically messy Düppeler Forst which is still inside the city of Berlin. You get an impression of the size of Wannsee on this hike.

Just before we visited the Wannsee Conference Memorial (Haus der Wannseekonferenz), a visit which can be connected to this small hike. I will share some photos and thoughts about it in the article linked above.

If you are interested in pre- and after-war architecture, the Wannsee quarter is a good example for it. Old manorial mansions mixed up with partly shabby social housing from the 70s and boat clubs. Quite a mixture and absolutely worth seeing.

  1. It looks like a wonderful area to wander through. I really love the way you captured the light, especially in your fourth image, the leaves on the ground.
