Last Sunday we walked from Bötzowviertel to the Museum of German History. On our way we stumbled upon some really old and ugly buildings constructed during the times of GDR. But in everyone of those houses the magic happend. Groups of students, gardeners, artists, filmmakers, cineasts created something new and phantastic out of the dust.
While some hundred meters away the newly build Berlin with its ridiculous Stadtschloss facade (a Disney world version of an old chateau bombed during WW2), the atrocity of Alexa Shopping Center build after the plan of an obviously mad and vicious Russian oligarch (or does it just look like that?) and some newly created office buildings or hotels which evoke the question if there is anybody at all who takes care of urban planning in Berlin. Decide for yourself what is what.
