Biesenthal

Berlin Day Hike: Longing For Spring In Biesenthal

Today during all my hike, I saw no human being but I heard millions of birds singing, squeaking and ranting. I think they are all – like me – waiting and knowing that spring will soon arrive.

At Wehrmühle, after I saw this magnificent and surprising piece of architecture, I met an  old lady who told me that she isn’t a fan of the new building at all. Her mother and 7 more families lived there once and she misses the times when there was plenty of live (as the new owner is only here for very little time during the year), flowers in the garden and when the waste collection service came up to her house because today she has to bring her trash can 400m to the entry of the settlement. More pictures of the house

Location: Biesenthal, Wehrmühlenweg – along Finowkanal – Lehnsee – Großer Grusegrund, Samithsee –  Fuchsberg – Reiterhof Biesenthal – Wehrmühle / Distance: 16 km / Weather: 10 °C, cloudy / Camera: Nikon D90, 35mm lens
