Berlin Day Hike: Tour Around The Lakes In Waldsieversdorf

We had a slow and grey Sunday and the sun hid behind clouds again. We all hope spring will manifest soon with great lights and warm sunrays. Pavlov saw a duck for the first time and as he is a “Duck Tolling Retriever” I imagined noticing some interest. But he is also interested in crows in the park 🙂

Berlin Day Hike: Puppy Tour Around Herrensee

Pavlov takes one or two kilos weekly and he really starts to enjoy the outdoors in the last days. We have a lot of fun teaching him how to get treats (easily, with those eyes!).

Berlin Day Hike: Heralds Of Spring Around Dammwiesen

We took a family tour around Dammwiesen in a marvelous and intense light. Everything was blue and yellow, we were able to hike in t-shirts for the first time of the year and in the evening our cheeks were glowing from all the sun we got. Pavlov made friends with the donkeys but even if the oxes were still babies, he showed a lot of respect. Maybe the corns?
Anyway: Even in February there a already ticks. I took four Dermacentor reticulatus (Auwaldzecke, marsh ticks) out of his fur the next day. Time to get him vaccinated.

Berlin Day Hike: Winter Lights And A Dog In A Bag

We hiked around Schönower Heide in the North of Berlin this Sunday and everything was dusted with frost and snow. With the sun rays falling on the landscape there was really some magic in viewing this. Pavlov the dog is still a baby and just stops walking after a while. Of course we brought an extra “doggy bag” with us, to carry him around. In the evening, after all those adventures (we saw birds and deer and a lot of other dogs) he fell asleep on my wellingtons.

Berlin Night Walk IV

With home office, I’m siting inside my apartment most of the time and to not turn crazy and move my bones a bit I going outside for extended night walks. Sometimes with friends, sometimes on my own. God, I wish to have a dog!

Berlin Day Hike: A Sunday City Walk

Today we just had a little lazy walk through Wedding and Mitte. I wore my linen slippers despite heavy cloudiness, because I wanted to, and of course it started raining and I had wet feet again. We had a little meal in a turkish restaurant on Badstrasse, we met some friends who had a stand on the flee market at Mauerpark and we went to the flee market on Arkona Platz to order a stand for November (!).

Sitting behind the stand at Mauerpark for a while and chatting with my friend Eddi – who is going to do “Interail for Seniors” through some eastern bloc countries – I looked up to some potential clients and saw a familiar face in front of me but this was so unlikely that I didn’t believe it at first. Standing there was Amy and her husband Jean-Paul from Luxemburg which I met on the Camino de Santiago in 2015. She is here for Fashion Week. // OMG. Fashion Week again. That is why there are so many strangely dressed people in town! // Next time when you’re in town I’ll have more time for you guys. Promised!

Look at those plants! Berlin is so green. The little park without a name behind my house is a complete wilderness now. There a millions of flowers, trees and berries growing this time of the year. I wonder if I should harvest some blackberries soon?
