In The Forest Around Olympiastadion in Berlin

We wanted to see Olympiastadion from above and climbed (took the elevator of) the campanile. Afterwards Pavlov had to take a walk and we discovered the beautiful forest behind Waldbühne and that there is a very special kind of Berlin wild garlic – very tasty but compared to the “normal” wild garlic with much smaller leaves.

Briesetal is still one of my favorite hikes and a lot of people discovered this enchanted area in the North of Berlin. Pavlov had a lot of fun with huge sticks and in the water. He doesn’t mind the temperatures at all.

Zakopane: Dolina Chochołowska By Horse Sleigh

In absence of further possibilities and also because it’s very, very beautiful we did Dolina Chochołowska again, but this time we went to the Refuge by “Kulig” – a horse sleigh – and went back by foot. When we entered the refuge to have a bowl of Żurek (best soup!) we were a little surprised by the intense horse smell – just until we realized that it’s us. So if you don’t have a washing machine with you, I strongly recommend to do this marvelous adventure on your last day 🙂

We had a walk through an area near the town but in the middle we had to take a detour because of heavy snow falls. When the path stopped in hip-deep snow it was just to exhausting to continue the walk.

The hike along Dolina Chochołowską is very, very beautiful. And it’s one of the rare places which is doable in winter with a dog.

We visited my Aunt that day and Pavlov and me took a walk in the rain to the castle of Wertheim. Quite some good views from above – if only the weather would have been a little kinder.
