A Trip To Alsace: Wissembourg, Hagenau And In Between

Mum, Pavlov and I have been to Alsace for some days and we saw a lot of timbered houses and bought and ate many different cheeses. On our first day we took a trip to some smaller but very picturesque towns. The weather was very variable and we had to pull out our raincoats several times.

Berlin Day Hike: Summer Day Around Tornow Lake

We had a nice day in the forest and at the lakes around Pritzwalker Mühle. Pavlov had a lot of fun in the forests and I’m very happy that he doesn’t show any ambition to hunt (except of pigeons in the city). At the end we bought some homemade honey next to Haus Tornow am See and a man told us the moved history of the building (Orphanage, war hospital, home for difficult adolescents).

Take a seat and have some coffee and cake on the lake side. It’s a really wonderful place.

Berlin Day Hike: A Walk Around Kleiner Stienitzsee

Two of us not in the best of health, we chose a small walk near our house. This day with two dogs.

Berlin Day Hike: Lost Places near Harnekop

We will come back to visit the huge exposition of GDR motorcycles collected by one of the inhabitants of the abandoned barracks.

Berlin Day Hike: Our House Hike Around Herrensee

We started this afternoon in the rain and we just wanted to have a quick walk before returning to the city. But soon the sun came out and we had some magic light in the forest. So there is something to remember in it: The most ordinary walk can unexpectedly turn into something shiny and bright with a little help from the sun. Pavlov loves running between the trees and mostly obeys very well when we call him back.

Berlin Day Hike: Blue Sunday Near Lichtenow

We had a nice Sunday afternoon walk near Lichtenow with friends. Pavlov didn’t want to take the backpack option this time and we observed a big group of deer far from us.

Berlin Day Hike: Tour Around The Lakes In Waldsieversdorf

We had a slow and grey Sunday and the sun hid behind clouds again. We all hope spring will manifest soon with great lights and warm sunrays. Pavlov saw a duck for the first time and as he is a “Duck Tolling Retriever” I imagined noticing some interest. But he is also interested in crows in the park 🙂

Berlin Night Hike: Empty Covid City

I started taking walks at night sometimes on my own, sometimes with a friend to move my tired home-office legs. You see some dog walkers around but even Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor is empty. Nobody is out there and it’s like in a movie where you wake up and suddenly you become aware that you are the only person around.

Berlin Day Hike: Tiny Cows And Foggy Lakes

We had a cold Sunday Hike around Dammwiesen between Rehfelde and Stienitzsee. On our way we saw donkeys and cows grazing on this huge natural reserve area. Really worth a hike!
Some weeks before we made the same hike, but as the trees still had most of their leaves and the sun was hining the atmosphere was completely different.
